This page explains what Free Fabric Calculator stores and who handles your data when you use it. I’m Rishabh, and I run the site on my own.
The Short Version
- The site itself sets no cookies.
- There are no analytics, no ads, no accounts and no forms.
- The calculators run in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to me.
- Your browser remembers two choices: light or dark mode, and inches or centimeters.
- The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles every page request.
What Your Browser Remembers
The site saves two settings in your browser’s local storage, so you don’t have to choose them again on every page:
- theme: light or dark, saved when you use the theme button.
- units: imperial or metric, saved when you switch units.
Local storage stays on your device. Unlike a cookie, it isn’t sent along when your browser asks for a page, and the site never sends these settings anywhere. To remove them, clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings.
Your Measurements
The calculations run in your browser, on your device. The sizes, prices and other values you type aren’t sent to me, and the site doesn’t save them.
As you type, the calculator also puts your inputs in the page address, so you can bookmark the page or share it with the Copy link button. If you share that link, whoever opens it sees the same inputs. When a page loads from a link like that, the full address, including your inputs, reaches the site’s host along with the request (see below).
The Copy result and Copy link buttons write to your clipboard. The site never reads your clipboard.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Every page request goes through Cloudflare’s network, which processes technical details such as your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cloudflare may set a security cookie, such as __cf_bm, to tell people from automated traffic. Cloudflare describes its cookies as strictly necessary, says __cf_bm expires after 30 minutes of inactivity, and says it doesn’t use it to track you from site to site. Details are on Cloudflare’s cookie page.
The fonts are served by this site too, so loading a page doesn’t contact any font service or other outside website.
If you email hello@freefabriccalculator.com, your message passes through Cloudflare Email Routing and is delivered to my Gmail inbox, which is run by Google. I use your email address and message only to reply to you. I don’t add you to a mailing list, and I don’t share or sell your details. If you’ve emailed me and want your messages deleted, ask and I’ll delete them.
Analytics and Ads
The site has no analytics and shows no ads. If either is added, this page will be updated at the same time, before it goes live, to say what it collects, which cookies it uses and how you can opt out.
Changes to This Page
When something changes, I update this page and the date at the top.
